Shall we demystify some myths?
Cutting your hair makes it grow faster and thicker
This is one of the most common myths. Cutting your hair does not change its growth rate or thickness. What happens is that, by cutting split ends, the hair looks healthier, but the rate of growth is determined by the hair cycle and genetic factors.
Plucking gray hair makes more hair grow
This myth has no foundation. Plucking a white hair does not cause more white hairs to grow in its place. What happens is that, over time, other hairs can turn gray due to natural aging.
Cold water makes hair shine
Cold water does not close the hair cuticles or directly add shine. However, finishing your shower with cold water can help soothe your scalp and improve circulation.
