Common causes of hair loss in men

Common causes of hair loss in men

  • Genetics (Androgenic Baldness)

Androgenic baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Due to a genetic predisposition, hair follicles become sensitive to androgenic hormones, resulting in thinner strands and a progressive reduction in hair density.

  • Hormonal imbalances

Changes in hormone levels, especially DHT (dihydrotestosterone), can accelerate hair loss by shortening the hair growth cycle.

  • Nutritional Deficiencies

Lack of essential nutrients such as iron, zinc and B vitamins can weaken hair and promote hair loss.

  • Stress

Physical and emotional stress can cause telogen effluvium, where many hairs prematurely enter the resting phase and fall out simultaneously.

  • Diseases and medical conditions

Autoimmune conditions, such as alopecia areata, and diseases such as thyroiditis can cause hair loss.
